Description

Candy Cane Lush is a festive, no-bake dessert featuring layers of Oreo crust, cream cheese filling with peppermint, white chocolate pudding, and whipped topping crowned with crushed candy canes. It's a creamy, sweet treat perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 36 Oreo cookies (14 oz package)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (1/2 stick)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed (from 12 oz carton)
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.3 oz each) packages white chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups cold milk

Topping

  • Remaining 11 oz whipped topping (from 12 oz carton)
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes (remaining from 3/4 cup total)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a food processor, pulse Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Add salt and melted butter and pulse just until combined. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place in the refrigerator to chill while preparing the filling.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add powdered sugar and milk, continue beating for about 2 minutes until fully smooth. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping and 1/2 cup crushed candy canes gently. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
  3. Prepare the pudding layer: In a clean bowl, whisk together white chocolate pudding mix and 2 3/4 cups cold milk for 2 minutes until the pudding thickens. Spread the pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Top and chill: Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set.
  5. Serve: When ready, sprinkle the remaining crushed candy canes over the top for garnish. Cut into squares and enjoy the festive dessert.

Notes

  • This dessert is a no-bake treat, making it quick and easy to prepare for holiday gatherings.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture and flavor.
  • Allow the dessert to chill overnight if possible for firmer layers and better flavor melding.
  • You can substitute crushed peppermint candies if candy canes are not available.
  • For a dairy-free or vegan version, consider using suitable cream cheese, pudding, and whipped topping alternatives.
