Description

This festive Grinch Fudge recipe features creamy white and vibrant green layers swirled together, topped with heart sprinkles for a perfect holiday treat. It's easy to make and ideal for Christmas parties, cookie trays, or holiday movie night snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons butter, softened, divided
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 12 squares (1 ounce each) white baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 5 drops green food coloring
  • 1/4 cup heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8-inch square baking pan with foil, leaving some overhang on the sides. Grease the foil with 1-1/2 teaspoons of softened butter. Set aside while you prepare the fudge.
  2. Cook Sugar Mixture: Combine the sugar, sour cream, and remaining 1/4 cup butter in a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves. Bring mixture to a rapid boil and continue cooking for about five minutes or until a candy thermometer reads 234°F (soft-ball stage).
  3. Remove from Heat and Add Ingredients: Take the saucepan off the heat. Add the chopped white baking chocolate, marshmallow cream, and peppermint extract. Stir until the chocolate and marshmallow melt completely, making a smooth mixture.
  4. Layer the Fudge: Pour half of the fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Add five drops of green food coloring to the remaining fudge in the saucepan and stir to combine. Spoon the green fudge over the white layer in the pan. Use a knife to swirl the two layers together to create a marbled effect.
  5. Add Toppings and Chill: Sprinkle the top with heart sprinkles. Refrigerate the fudge until firm, about 2 hours.
  6. Cut and Serve: Once set, use the foil overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Peel away the foil and cut the fudge into 1-inch squares. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • This fudge is perfect for Christmas parties, cookie trays, or holiday movie night snacking thanks to its festive green and white layers with heart sprinkles.
  • To test for the soft-ball stage without a candy thermometer, drop a small spoonful of the hot mixture into cold water. It should form a soft, pliable ball.
  • Use good quality white baking chocolate and fresh marshmallow cream for the best creamy texture.
  • Store leftover fudge airtight in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • For extra peppermint flavor, you can add a few more drops of peppermint extract, but don’t overdo it to maintain balance.
