Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 1 12-count package Hawaiian Rolls
- 6 tablespoons cream cheese (plain or onion & chive)
- 1/2 pound ground breakfast sausage
- 1/3 cup diced red bell peppers (optional)
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Butter Glaze
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
- Slice Rolls. Using a serrated knife, carefully slice through all 12 Hawaiian rolls horizontally without separating them, creating one large top half and one large bottom half.
- Prepare Baking Pan. Lightly grease an 8x11 inch baking pan (or a 9x13 inch pan if 8x11 is not available). Place the bottom half of the rolls evenly in the pan.
- Spread Cream Cheese. Evenly spread the cream cheese over the bottom half of the rolls to add a creamy base layer.
- Cook Sausage and Peppers. In a saucepan over medium heat, brown the ground breakfast sausage along with the diced red bell peppers until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set the mixture aside.
- Make Scrambled Eggs. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper until smooth. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are softly scrambled and fully cooked.
- Assemble Sliders. Sprinkle the cooked sausage and pepper mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer on the bottom rolls, then add the scrambled eggs on top. Next, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the eggs. Finally, place the top half of the rolls over the assembled layers.
- Make Butter Glaze. Melt the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the onion powder, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, and dried parsley flakes until well combined.
- Brush and Bake. Brush the butter glaze generously over the top rolls, allowing it to soak in. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Finish Baking. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
- Serve. Remove from the oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm for a delightful breakfast experience.
Notes
- Use plain or onion & chive cream cheese based on your flavor preference.
- Red bell peppers are optional but add a nice sweetness and color to the sausage mixture.
- For a spicier kick, you can substitute breakfast sausage with spicy Italian sausage.
- Make sure not to separate the rolls when slicing to keep the sliders intact and easier to assemble.
- Brush the butter glaze generously to ensure the tops become golden and flavorful.
- These sliders are best served warm but can be refrigerated and reheated for a quick breakfast option.
